We offer unique programs, providing meals, rides, visits to the homebound and respite for caregivers, grief and memory loss support, blood drives, flu & other vaccines, educational programs, and general information/referrals for various wellness related concerns.

Our mission is to provide a safe and Christ-like environment for low income, at-risk children. Our K - 12 children obtain a Christian based education, along with life skills training. Our mission is for each student to have a faith based foundation to carry them through life, along with encouraging them to attend college and/or ultimately breaking the bonds of poverty, becoming a successful citizens in our community.

Good Shepherd Clinic of Dawson County strives to make Dawson County a better place by providing a medical home for those adults who have none.
Who We Serve: The Good Shepherd Clinic of Dawson County is a non-profit center providing free non-emergent health, dental, vision, mental health counseling, women’s wellness services, referral services and free medications for adults who live, work or attend school in Dawson County without access to health insurance and are at or below the 200% Federal Poverty Level.
The clinic is 100% volunteer and Donor dependent.
Animal Welfare
Our mission is to be a no kill shelter for homeless dogs and cats found in the Big Canoe community, providing them with a safe, healthy and positive environment until they are adopted into their forever loving new home. We will evaluate each animal we take in, improve their health and physical appearance, socialization skills and provide suitable forums for their adoption. We will also offer outreach support and educate the general public as to humane animal care.

It is the Mission of Burnt Mountain Center to advocate and provide services and support to those with disabilities and their families that enhance their quality of life and help them discover and move toward their own desirable personal futures while providing needed help in ways that protect and promote valued experiences for them now.
POA Programs and Events
Our group exists to assist residents in removing bulk trash from cars and expedite the flow of traffic during quarterly Bulk Trash Days sponsored by the POA. Confirm which items are appropriate for bulk trash. Educate residents on proper recycling and locations for getting rid of items.
Caregiver & Support Groups
Hospice of NGMC is committed to improving and supporting the quality of life in all we do. We have over 30 years of experience providing end of life care serving patients and families. The volunteer role is one of the most tender and significant parts of the program. Volunteering allows exceptional, caring individuals to use their gifts and skills to help our patients, families and caregivers.
SVDP (Jasper Conference) is a Catholic Charitable Organization that helps all individuals of any faith who are in need of assistance due to financial or other hardships. The organization provides rental, power and other assistance as well as referrals to community resources. We have programs to assist people with their educational journey in order to get back on their feet.
Children & Youth
To support women who find themselves with an unplanned pregnancy or women who need support throughout their pregnancy. We also offer free and confidential counseling to women, men and families. We are a faith-based ministry and love to share the hope of the Gospel with our clients. We provide practical help and spiritual hope. We offer post abortion recovery as well.

The mission of Young Life is to introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith. We do this by praying for young people, going where kids are and building personal relationships with them. We provide experiences that are fun, adventurous and life-changing. Our staff and volunteer leaders share their lives and the good news of Jesus Christ with adolescents.
Cub Scouts is an active program for children (both boys and girls) in kindergarten through fifth grade and their families that encourages learning, friendship—and most of all—getting out and having fun!
Scouts BSA is a year-round program for youth who are 11 years old through 17 years old, that provides fun, adventure, learning, challenge, and responsibility to help them become the best version of themselves. Open to young women as well as young men, all of whom will have the chance to earn Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout.
The mission of Angels on Horseback is to provide therapeutic equine assisted activities to individuals with mental, physical or emotional disabilities and to encourage growth through the benefits of horse and human relationships

Our mission is to mobilize volunteers from churches, businesses, organizations, and households from our community to form a cohesive coalition to fund and build simple, decent affordable housing in partnership with God and God's people in need.
The Men’s Fellowship is a Christian organization missioned to serve others and foster personal and spiritual growth. We serve through a variety of ministries and always make time for a busy social calendar including a golf tournament, fish fries, sporting events and more.

Food Banks
Our mission is to provide food and essential non-food items, temporary financial assistance, resource counseling and educational assistance to those in need residing in Pickens County, Georgia.
The Georgia Mountain Food Bank addresses hunger, health and quality of life by serving those in need.

Our mission is to provide educational experiences for all ages, and fostering a love for history. With our temporary exhibitions and events, as well as our permanent collections, we aim to inspire and enlighten our visitors. We will focus on mentoring programs especially those that will help youth that come from low-income families and do not have the resources and are at a disadvantage among their peers.

The purpose of the Big Canoe Chapel Women’s Fellowship is to bring together ALL women of the Big Canoe community, to encourage Christian fellowship, to understand God’s will for our lives through Bible study and to promote activities to benefit the Chapel and our surrounding areas. You do NOT have to be a member of the Chapel to participate in Women’s Fellowship.

Thrift Stores
We are a full service Thrift store where ALL proceeds go to our grant program. We provide help to over 20 Charitable Organizations throughout Pickens county. We also provide clothes to the disadvantaged at no cost. We utilize an all volunteer work crew where even upper management work pro bono. In the last 20 years we have provided over 9 million dollars in aid.
