Keep Pickens Beautiful
Keep Pickens Beautiful, formerly Citizens for a Clean Community, was started by a group of concerned citizens striving to develop a clean and beautiful environment for Pickens County.
As part of the Keep America Beautiful Program, KPB seeks to reduce the amount of litter in our community, beautify, and protect our environment. Our focus is on conservation – using natural resources wisely, reducing waste in landfills and enhancing the natural beauty of our county with edible gardens and environmentally responsible landscapes.

Volunteer Activities
Recycling: Work with the new recycling center to direct waste from the landfill.
Adopt-A-Road: Volunteers adopt a portion of a road or highway to pick up trash at least quarterly.
Beautification: We sponsor a wide range of beautification projects including historical murals, landscaping initiatives, edible gardens and a community corner green space. We could use help from herbalists or anyone with experience in edible gardening.
Education: We work with public school systems, youth groups and community organizations to promote sustainability and environmental responsibility.
